Danielle Flipping began her journey in higher education  in August 1994 by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at Norfolk State University. As an undergraduate student, she was a member of the ENFL Club, where she was involved and assisted with organizing programs, meetings, and fundraising events for the departmental organization.   In 2003, Danielle began working for her Alma mater, Norfolk State University and during her 14 year employment at the institution, she has worked in Residential Life and Housing, The Reclamation Program at The Virginia Beach Higher Education Center, The Office of Academic Engagement and lastly, in The Dr. Patricia Lynch Stith Student Success Center as an academic advisor and Examination of Writing Competency (EWC) Liaison. Danielle began her graduate studies in August 2016 and choose Urban Affairs because of her passion and desire to work within urban administrations that address current urban issues, particularly, regarding students pursuing higher education. She has volunteered her time and efforts to the non-profit organization Dress for Success of Hampton Roads, The NSUAA, which she is a lifetime member, Spartan Prep Academy, NSU Women’s Conference, NSU Graduate Studies Orientation Panel, and at various Hampton Roads high schools to speak to students about the importance of college preparation and success. Danielle completed her graduate program with a cum GPA of 3.74, is a member of The NSU Sociological Honors Society and her conferred degree is a Master of Arts in Urban Affairs. She is currently a Professional Academic Advisor and Adjunct Faculty at Norfolk State University.
